What happens when text and motion encounter?
Textual Motion is a multidisciplinary artwork that combines stories by the audience, modern poetry and dance improvisation. The artwork explores encounters and their interfaces; instants turned into encounters, stories of these moments turned to texts and text interpreted as emotions through motion.
The texts are based on stories collected from the audience and modified to poems by poet Henrik Pathirane. The dancers interpret the words at the display as spontaneous improvisation.
At this point we collect stories only in Finnish, but the display is open for all audiences. Textual Motion premieres in Helsinki May 2019. Specific dates shall be released in February 2019.
